The Wangan Midnight x Angel Clover WM40-Z is a collaboration Wangan Midnight watch themed around Asakura Akio's Nissan Fairlady Z S30 — the "Devil's Z" (悪魔のZ) — from the legendary manga and anime series 湾岸ミッドナイト (Wangan Midnight). A deep blue dial carries "28" at its centre, directly referencing the legendary L28-modified engine that gave the Devil's Z its supernatural straight-line speed. Three sub-dials styled after car instrument gauges, a wheel design engraved caseback, and a "Z" engraved crown complete a wristwatch that immerses itself entirely in the world of the car and the myth around it. Based on Angel Clover's 40mm solar platform — the same foundation as the Initial D collaboration watches — this is a pre-order model available July 8 through August 6, 2026, with shipment from early August.
Limited Edition Anime Watch Inspired by Wangan Midnight
- Asakura Akio Devil's Z Design: The deep blue dial and central "28" directly reference the Nissan Fairlady Z S30's legendary L28-modified engine — the heart of the Devil's Z and the source of its terrifying speed. It's a design that speaks immediately to any Wangan Midnight fan who knows why this number matters.
- Three Automotive Gauge Sub-Dials: Three sub-dials styled after car instrument gauges are arranged across the dial, drawing a direct visual connection between the watch face and the cockpit of the Devil's Z — a design language shared across the Wangan Midnight collaboration series.
- Wheel Design Engraved Caseback: The caseback features a wheel design engraving, adding a final layer of automotive authenticity that reinforces the watch's identity as a genuine collaboration piece built around the car's specific character.
- "Z" Engraved Crown: The crown is engraved with "Z" — a small but deeply satisfying detail for anyone who knows the legend of the Devil's Z and the myth that surrounds it in Wangan Midnight's story.
- Solar-Powered Movement & 10 Bar Water Resistance: Built on Angel Clover's reliable 40 x 40mm solar platform with a triple-link stainless steel bracelet with locking clasp, mineral glass crystal, and 100-metre (10 bar) water resistance — practical for everyday wear alongside its collectible appeal. Backed by a 1-year warranty.
