The dream express train Hikari that ran through the high economic growth period
Carrying nostalgic memories, it runs along the rails of time
On October 1, 1964, just before the opening of the Tokyo Olympics,
The "Dream Super Express Hikari" made a spectacular start to the Tokaido Shinkansen line linking Tokyo and Shin-Osaka.
Just five years after construction began, the 0-series Hikari made its grand debut in response to the nation's mission to build the Shinkansen. As the world's first high-speed train with a top speed of over 200 kilometers per hour, it demonstrated to the world the strength of Japan, which had achieved post-war reconstruction.
Sixty years have passed since then, and a stylish memorial watch has been born to pay tribute to the original 0-series Shinkansen, which carried the dreams, hopes and memories of countless people. The image of the 0-series, with its striking two-tone blue and white color, is expressed on a beautifully gradient dial. The left and right subdials are designed with the distinctive 0-series headlights lined up vertically, in tribute to the charming front face that has been familiar to many for many years. This is a special model that you will want to have in your hands now, as a memorial to the dream super express 0-series that ran through the high economic growth period.
