The Seiko Prospex Speedtimer Solar Chronograph HBJ001P is the standard catalogue model in the Speedtimer solar series — the production version of a watch whose limited edition sibling, the HBJ005P, sold on the strength of its Edo Purple dial and 145th anniversary credentials. Where the HBJ005P is a collector's piece, the HBJ001P is a daily tool: the same Caliber V192 solar chronograph, the same tachymeter, the same curved sapphire crystal, the same power reserve display — deployed in a blue and silver colourway that sits closer to the original Speedtimer's racing instrument aesthetic than the anniversary purple. The dial is organised for legibility under movement: tachymeter scale on the aluminium bezel, 1/5 second stopwatch with 60-minute counter, 24-hour hand for secondary timezone, power reserve indicator so you always know where you stand.
