The Seiko 5 Sports SBSC021 — nicknamed the "SKX GMT" by the collector community — is a Japan-only model that brings GMT functionality to the beloved SKX lineage via the Caliber 4R34. Where the standard SKX Sports watches carry the heritage diver aesthetic, the SBSC021 pushes into tool watch territory: a rotating 24-hour bezel for tracking a second time zone, a red GMT hand pointing at the bezel's scale, and a dial kept deliberately dark so the functional elements read cleanly.

The colour story is浮世絵 (ukiyo-e) — Japanese woodblock print aesthetics translated into watchmaking. The bezel alternates blue and purple across the 24-hour scale, a reference to the atmospheric gradients of Edo-period woodblock prints depicting twilight, dawn, and the transitions between them. Against a black dial, the red GMT hand, white hour markers, and the blue/purple bezel create a visual hierarchy that works equally in direct light and low-light conditions. Lumibrite on hands and indices handles the dark. The see-through caseback exposes Caliber 4R34's rotor. Made in Japan.
