A rare and collectible Seiko 5 from the 1980s, also called the "Big Moon Phase" or "Lunar Calendar", featuring Seiko’s only mechanical moonphase movement: the Cal. 6347A. This Japan-only model stands out with its crisp white dial, recessed moonphase display at 12 o’clock, and gold-accented stardust chapter ring — all housed in a bold, faceted octagonal stainless steel case.
Gold-tone dauphine hands and baton markers add a refined vintage touch, while the framed date window at 6 o’clock keeps the layout clean and balanced. This particular example has been paired with a modern Milanese mesh strap for a subtle retrofuturistic update.

Condition
- Dial: Original and clean, with slight aging and natural patina
- Hands: Original gold-tone dauphine set with central seconds
- Case: Light surface wear; gold-tone bezel ring in good shape
- Crystal: Visible chips at the top edge and sides
- Crown: New original Seiko 40M54NS1 crown (old original crown has run out of threads)
- Movement: Running and keeping time; date and moonphase advance correctly; recently serviced by an experienced watchsmith in July 2025
- Bracelet: New aftermarket stainless steel Milanese mesh strap with a double lock clasp
How to set
- Date: Pull out the crown one click, turn clockwise
- Moonphase: Pull out the crown one click, turn counter-clockwise (please refer to the moon calendar to set the moonphase correctly)
- Time: Pull out the crown two clicks, turn counter-clockwise to advance
