The Sega Hard x SuperGroupies — Sega Saturn Model Watch is an officially licensed collaboration timepiece produced by SuperGroupies, dedicated to the console that fought the great fifth-generation console war with everything it had. Released in Japan on November 22, 1994 — a date burned into the memory of every Saturn fan — the Sega Saturn took on the Sony PlayStation and Nintendo 64 with a library of Japanese RPGs, fighting games, and arcade ports that have never been fully appreciated in the West. This analog watch honours that legacy with a blue-grey and gunmetal design that speaks to the adult gamer who was there. The Sega Saturn logo sits at 12 o’clock. The reset button is at 3; the power button at 9. The open disc tray button appears at the centre. The Saturn controller’s distinctive button layout is faithfully reproduced on the dial. The open disc tray button appears at the centre of the dial — referencing the Saturn’s top-loading disc mechanism, one of the console’s most distinctive physical features. The controller’s button layout is faithfully reproduced across the lower dial.
- Blue-Grey Dial with Gunmetal Band — Adult Gamer Aesthetic: The blue-grey colour scheme evokes the Saturn’s distinctive console palette. The gunmetal-finished stainless steel band gives the Saturn Model a dark, restrained character appropriate for a console whose fanbase grew up right along with it.
