Rado Royal Elegance – Vintage Swiss Rectangular Dress Watch (c. 1960s–70s)
A striking example of Rado’s mid-century design language, this Royal Elegance showcases bold architectural casework paired with minimalist Swiss dial execution.
The rectangular gold-tone case features a beautifully executed cross-hatched guilloché bezel, framed by stepped horizontal ribbing at the top and bottom—an unmistakable nod to late Art Deco and early 1970s modernism. The case retains crisp lines and strong definition, indicating minimal polishing.
The original black dial displays elegant age-appropriate patina and is signed with the applied Rado anchor logo, printed RADO, flowing “Royal Elegance” script, and SWISS designation. Gold faceted dauphine hands complete the refined two-hand layout, emphasizing the watch’s formal dress orientation.
The watch is powered by a Swiss manual-wind Rado-signed movement, most commonly the ETA 2360, a proven and easily serviceable caliber used extensively by Rado during this period.
The stainless steel screw-down caseback is correctly engraved “RADO – STAINLESS STEEL BACK” with serial K1564256, consistent with original factory production.
