The silicon escape wheel, developed in-house using MEMS processing technology, which is also used in the manufacture of Epson's high-definition printers, is innovative in its unique structure that gives it spring properties. This escape wheel also makes use of Epson's semiconductor technology, and the light reflected is adjusted by controlling the film thickness in nanometer units to achieve a vivid blue color.
