Description
The silicon escape wheel provides a power reserve of 70 hours. The movement, which is made up of over 100 precision parts, is assembled by hand in Akita by dedicated technicians, and is imbued with outstanding technology and passion.
This is a masterpiece that combines a classic design with a groundbreaking movement that makes full use of cutting-edge technology.
By installing a new silicon escape wheel that is lighter and has improved processing precision, the energy transmission efficiency of the escapement has been improved, achieving a 70-hour duration. The silicon escape wheel, developed in-house using MEMS processing technology, which is also used in the manufacture of Epson's high-definition printers, is innovative in its unique structure that gives it spring properties. This escape wheel also makes use of Epson's semiconductor technology, and the light reflected is adjusted by controlling the film thickness in nanometer units to achieve a vivid blue color.
